🏅Spring Training Awards🏅

MVP: Matt Olson

This one is an easy one. The dude absolutely raked this spring hitting .432 with 8 HRs and 18 RBIs through 17 games. The 29 year old has hit 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs the last two seasons and he doesn't seem to be stopping. Olson is climbing the ranks of a thinning 1B fantasy class.

Cy Young: Yusei Kikuchi

The 31 year old has yet to find much success in his 4 MLB seasons. Having over a 5.00 ERA in 3/4 years and has yet to have a winning record. If his spring is any indication how he'll do this season then it seems he may be turning a new leaf. The lefty had a 1.00 ERA with 25 Ks and 2 ERs in 18 IP this spring.

Rookie of the Spring: Corbin Carroll

One of the favorites to win the NL ROY proved exactly why he deserves all of the hype this spring. Carroll hit .370 with 17 hits (6 going for extra bases), 7 RBI's, 5 SB's, and had a K/BB ratio of 8/13 in 46 at bats. Carol is one of the youngest, fastest, and most exciting up and coming rookies and we believe he more than proved his abilities this preseason.

Early Season Sleeper Picks

Jared Schuster

With a 1.45 ERA, 18 Ks and 3 ERs in 18.2 IP this lefty has been electric to watch. His wipeout slider has caused trouble for hitters all spring. The 24 year old rookie managed to secure a spot in the Braves rotation. The best part is that Shuster is only rostered in 7.7% of ESPN leagues.

Anthony Volpe

Well he may not be a "sleeper" but the Yankees starting SS is only rostered in 44.1% of leagues. Volpe turned heads as he flew through the minors hitting 48 HRs and stealing 83 bases across 241 games. If that wasn't enough the 21 year old hit .302 with 5 HRs and 5 SBs through 18 games this spring. While he will still have to prove himself as the everyday SS he is definitely worth rostering in all leagues, especially keeper leagues.

Dustin May

May (rostered in 51.5% of leagues) has missed many starts in the past few seasons due to a number of arm problems. However, he will be coming in to the 2023 season fully healthy and hungry to prove himself on a slightly less star studded, but still dominant, Dodgers roster. With injuries and losing Trevor Bauer, the Dodgers need someone to step up and take on some big innings. This spring May had a 2.95 ERA with 20 K's in 18.1 innings, a solid spring to get him into a breakout season.

Clubhouse Stories

⚾️ MLB and minor leaguers agree on first ever collective bargaining agreement. This will raise all minor league salaries and finally have them paid year round.

That's the final out for this one. Keep chasing that trophy🏆
