Injury Report

Vinnie Pasquantino exited yesterday’s game in the 7th inning due to right shoulder discomfort. We do not have too much information yet but the Royals should be announcing more in the coming days. Hopefully it is just some soreness and nothing too serious for the young first basemen.

Eloy Jimenez has been experiencing some pain in his left leg just below the calf. According to the White Sox he is going to miss 4 or 5 days but he will most likely not end up on the IL. Fantasy owners will hopefully be able to get him back at the beginning of next week if all goes well for the slugging outfielder.

Julio Urías has been scratched from his start on Sunday and will not return from the injured list. The Dodgers thought he would be good to go on Sunday but unfortunately Urías experienced some discomfort in his hamstring on Thursday while throwing a bullpen. His timeline has been pushed back a little bit and he should be expected to rejoin the Dodgers in about two weeks after he gets some rest and gets a minor league rehab start.

Notable Performances

Ke’Bryan Hayes went 5-5 with two 2B’s, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI’s in the Pirates 14-7 win over the Mets. The 26 year old had been quiet so far this season but has been hitting the cover off of the ball the last week. Hayes has shown flashes of potential over his career but injuries have made it hard for him to stay in a rhythm. Hitting .266 with 4 HR’s, 28 RBI’s and 7 SB’s on the year, fantasy managers will be hopeful he can stay on his latest stretch.

Corbin Carroll had one of his best days as a professional going 3-5 with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s in the DBacks 11-6 win over the Tigers. The 22 year old came into the season as favorite for Rookie of the Year and has yet to disappoint. He is hitting .307 on the year with 13 HR’s, 32 RBI’s and 18 SB’s. Carroll is solidifying himself as one of the most exciting up and coming prospects and fantasy managers should be thrilled to have him on their team.

Isaac Paredes had himself a day at the plate driving in 6 of the 8 Rays runs in their 8-3 win over the Rangers. He has locked up a starting role due to his production at the plate this season hitting .270 with 11 HR’s and 44 RBI’s. The 24 year old hadn’t done much throughout his career but now that he is seeing consistent playing time, he is well worth being rostered.
