The Daily Reminder

Don't strike out before the game even starts! Set your lineup now to prepare yourself for a victory this week.
"My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging."

Injury Report
Pete Alonso is day to day after being hit with a pitch in the left wrist in yesterdays game. Alonso should consider himself lucky that the X-rays came back negative since he was drilled with a 97 MPH fastball. He will likely miss a couple of games while the pain and swelling get better. He should be back in the Mets lineup by early next week at the latest.
Yandy Diaz will be sitting for a second consecutive game with a minor hip injury. He has been dealing with some hip discomfort but it does not seem to be serious as he is available off the bench in today’s game. He is expected to return back to the Rays lineup tomorrow.
Edward Cabrera was removed from his start yesterday after throwing 5 innings of 1 run baseball. This was due to a blister on his right hand. Blisters can be tricky and could hold pitcher out for a while, but hopefully Cabrera will not have to miss any time because of this. We will be learning more in the next couple of days from the Marlins.

Notable Performances
Jon Gray threw an absolute gem going all 9 innings while striking out 12 and giving up 1 run in a devastating 1-0 loss against the Cardinals. Everything is clicking for the veteran as he has been one of the hottest pitchers in baseball. The 31 year old is 6-2 on the season with a 2.32 ERA and 63 K’s while not allowing more than 1 ER in any of his last 6 starts. Fantasy managers are pleasantly surprised and hopeful he can stay on this tear.
Juan Soto went 5-5 with a 2B and 4 RBI’s in the Padres 10-3 win over the Mariners. After a slow start to the season, the All Star outfielder has picked things up a bit but is still only hitting .265 on the year with 10 HR’s and 31 RBI’s. He has proved himself as one of the best hitters in the game when locked in so there should be no worries about the 24 year old.
Joey Wiemer had a monster day at the plate going 4-4 with 2 HR’s and 5 RBI’s helping carry the Brewers to a 10-2 win over the Orioles. The rookie has been fairly quiet this season but has heated up as of late. He is currently in the midst of an 8 game hit streak which has lifted his season stat line to a .231 batting average with 8 HR’s and 23 RBI’s. While still not overly impressive we will be keeping an eye on the 24 year old to see if he can continue this stretch.
