Injury Report
Luis Garcia was removed from his start yesterday against the Giants. Only a day after Urquidy went down, the Astros add Garcia to their list of injured arms. Garcia was feeling some elbow discomfort and was only able to throw 8 pitches because of it. Elbow discomfort is never a good injury to have, hopefully he will not require any kind of surgery and will be back quickly.
Ronald Acuña Jr. was hit with a pitch in the left shoulder yesterday. He exited the game but luckily the X-rays came back negative. It does not seem like he will require a trip the the IL but he may be on the bench for a few days recovering from the contusion.
Bryce Harper looks to come off of the injured list and rejoin the Phillies today after undergoing Tommy John surgery back in November of 2022. The slugging lefty will rejoin the team as a DH, but soon Harper will look to take over at 1st base and then eventually work his way back to the outfield. Harper is a must start in all leagues, when healthy he is a top 10 hitter in the game.

Notable Performances
Andrew Abbott got his MLB career off to a great start. The 24 year old lefty threw 6 shutout innings with 6 K’s while only giving up 1 hit in his debut against the Brewers. He struggled a bit with command, walking 4, but still managed to stay out of trouble. Abbott was a strikeout machine in the minors so he may be worth a pick up for those in need of a starter.
Aaron Nola was virtually unhittable against the Tigers going 7 innings, striking out 12 while giving up 3 unearned runs. The veteran had been shaky at times this year but was anything but last night as he took a no hitter into the 7th inning. Fantasy managers are hopeful the 30 year old can build off of his best start of the year. Trea Turner contributed on the offensive front going 4-5 with 2 HR’s and 3 RBI’s.
Luis Arraez went 3-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI’s in the Marlins 9-6 win over the Royals. This type of outing has become the usual for Arraez as he bumps his batting average on the season to a whopping .399. The 26 year old continues to establish himself as arguably the best contact hitter in the game. He has hit over .300 in 3 out of his 4 years in the majors so fantasy managers can expect continued production.
