Injury Report

Michael Brantley has been playing in minor league games as he is making his way back from surgery on his right labrum. The veteran is hitting .273 over 8 games in triple-A. Brantley has always been a very consistent hitter and should be a solid producer in the Astros lineup when he returns. He won’t give you much in the power department but he will get on base and make things happen.

Carlos Rodón seems to be struggling with his back more than people initially thought. He will receive a cortisone shot in hopes it can speed up his recovery and get him on the field for the Yankees. On the bright side, it seems as though the elbow injury that initially put him out of play is a non factor for the lefty.

Raisel Iglesias has been activated from the IL and is ready to make his 2023 season debut. He should be expected to slide right into the closer role for the Braves. This gives him a chance to be one of the most valuable closers in fantasy as the Braves should rank amongst the top teams in the league in wins.

Notable Performances

Anthony Santander had a big day at the plate going 2-5 with 2 HR’s, one of them being a grand slam, and 5 RBI’s. The 28 year old looks to make it back to back 30 HR seasons after reaching the mark for the first time last year. He has been on a hot streak these past 7 days bringing his season totals to a .248 batting average, 5 HR’s and 18 RBI’s.

Fernando Tatis Jr. went yard twice against Clayton Kershaw to help lead the Padres over the Dodgers 5-2.
