“No matter how good you are, you’re going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you’re going to win one-third of your games. It’s the other third that makes the difference.”

Injury Report

Robbie Ray will be missing the remainder of the season as he is undergoing flexor tendon surgery on his left arm. Ray injured his flexor tendon in his first start of the year and has been on the IL since. The lefty was projected to come back at some point in May but that is obviously no longer the case.

Logan O'Hoppe will be out 4-6 months after he had surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday. The young catcher first injured his shoulder swinging a bat earlier in the season. He returned to play shortly after, but it turns out the injury was more serious than initially thought as he has a torn labrum. It is good that it is not his throwing arm but it will still sideline him for a majority of this season.

Tim Anderson will begin a minor league assignment this weekend for the White Sox. The shortstop has been sidelined with a left knee sprain, but it looks like he is about ready to return to action. If all goes well in his rehab assignment he should be able to join the team at some point next week. He will hope to give the White Sox a spark as they have been struggling in his absence.

Notable Performances

Ramón Urías went 4-4 with 3 runs scored and an RBI in the Orioles 6-2 win over the Red Sox. It was a nice game at the plate to close out a productive series for the 28 year old who went 7-11 with 3 RBI's over the 3 games. The utility infielder hasn't done much at the plate over his career but he did have 16 HR's last season so we can expect his power numbers to improve a bit.

Paul Goldschmidt did all he could in the Cardinals 7-3 loss to the giants. The veteran accounted for half of the team's hits going 4-5 with 2 HR's and 2 RBI's. After winning the MVP award last year fantasy managers have high expectations for the 7 time All Star and so far they don't have much to complain about. The slugger is hitting .315 with 4 HR's and 13 RBI's on the season and has even managed to sneak in 2 SB's.

Zac Gallen managed to extend his scoreless inning streak to 28 in last nights 2-0 win over the Royals. The righty was unhittable going 6.1 innings with a whopping 12 K's while giving up only 4 hits. Performances like this have started to become a regular occurrence for Gallen. Having a player like this makes winning fantasy matchups easy and fantasy owners are eager for him to get back on the mound.
