“Slump? I ain’t in no slump. I just ain’t hitting.”

Injury Report
Pete Alonso was activated from the 10 day IL today. It was a surprising move from the Mets since he was expected to miss 3-4 weeks. However, Alonso must be feeling much better as he is returning in the minimum amount of time. Hopefully he will be able to kick start their offense and turn their season around.
Sean Murphy is dealing with some hamstring irritation. Murphy injured his hamstring while running the bases in yesterday’s game against the Rockies. Luckily it is not strained so hopefully with a couple days of rest he will be able to return to the Braves lineup.
Tim Anderson was removed from yesterday's game with right shoulder soreness. Teams always like to be careful with any kind of arm pain and that is exactly what happened. It seems like a very minor issue as Anderson may be able to return to the White Sox lineup tonight against the Mariners.

Notable Performances
Blake Snell put together another brilliant start throwing 6 shutout innings
Eury Perez continues to dazzle in his rookie season. The 20 year old threw a season high 6 shutout innings with one walk and 6 K’s while only giving up 2 hits. Despite not allowing more than 3 runs in any of his starts, there are rumors he may be sent down when Trevor Rogers returns from the IL. This is not deserved as he has a 1.80 ERA and 36 K’s through 35 innings but the Marlins are being careful with the youngsters work load.
Ronald Acuna Jr. took full advantage of 18 innings of baseball yesterday. Over the course of the doubleheader the 25 year old went 4-8 with 2 HR’s, 3 runs, 4 RBI’s and a stolen base. The 3 time All Star continues to contribute in every category this season making him the front runner for NL MVP. Acuna is hitting .333 with 15 HR’s, 44 RBI’s and 29 SB’s. Fantasy managers can plug him in their lineup and sit back and watch as he continues his historical season.
