7th Inning Stretch

Take a break from today and check out some of the best, and some of the worst players from the past week.

“Winning depends on where you put your priorities. It’s usually best to put them over the fence.”

Jason Giambi

It's effortless to overlook a cold player in your starting lineup, which could end up costing you valuable points. Conversely, a player on a red-hot streak could be sitting on the bench simply because you're not familiar with their name. Identifying who's on fire and who's ice-cold could make all the difference between a triumphant win or a devastating loss for the week. With so many players in the league, it can be challenging to keep tabs on who's dominating and who's struggling. That's why we're here to provide you with the scorching hot and the rock-bottoms of today's players, so you can position yourself for a shot at lifting that coveted trophy.

Injury Report

Jose Altuve has started fielding ground balls this week. The all-star second basemen has been out since he suffered a broken thumb in the WBC but has started to resume baseball activities. He still has not been cleared to swing a bat so there is not yet an exact timetable for his return, but it seems like he should be back in about a month.

Salvador Perez exited yesterday's game after being hit in his glove hand by the bat of Anthony Santander. He was having an excellent game as he had 2 home runs before being injured. There has not been an updated report but hopefully the x-rays will come back negative for the veteran catcher.

Liam Hendriks is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment today. The closer has not yet played this season after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma this off-season. He is now cancer free and looks to jump right back into playing. Hendriks will need some time to get back into playing everyday but he should hopefully be back in the middle of May to help the struggling White Sox.
